How to choose a submersible pumpA pump is to be chosen according to two main parameters: capacity (flow rate) – how many liters of water a minute or cu. m of water an hour a pump can do, and head - to what height in meters a pump can deliver this water.
Flow rate. For normal comfortable life usually 1000 liters of water a day (24 hours) per a person is enough (even if to take bath twice a day). So it is easy to get the required number by multiplying the number of people permanently living in the house by 1 000 (1m3) a day (24 hours). For example, for 3 000l is enough for three people.
An additional index - maximum flow rate. It can be determined by the possibility of simultaneous use of several water consumption outlets. For example, three persons can simultaneously use a shower (bath) - 8-10 liters a minute, a tap in the kitchen - 6 liters a minute, a toilet - 6 liters a min., then maximum consumption of water will make 22 liters a minute. Our experience shows, that for a family of 4-5 people it is quite sufficient if maximum flow rate makes 30 liters a minute (1 800 l = 1,8m3 per hour), and total daily consumption is equal to 3 000l = 3 m3 of water per a day.
Before choosing a down-hole pump quite a great amount of information is needed. Most part of this information is given in the passport for the hole. That is why you should demand this passport and you will be able to choose the pump with optimal for you parameters yourselves or with the assistance of experts of the firm selling pumps.
Remember that correctly chosen pump will have long service life and will not create problems with water supply.
Information available in the passport which is necessary to choose a pump:
- The hole depth (this information is available in the passport for the hole). The pump shall not be installed nearer than one meter from the hole bottom.
- Dynamic level (this information is available in the passport for the hole). The pump shall be installed below the dynamic level.
- Static level (this information is available in the passport for the hole). The hole may have self discharge, which may cause problems with mounting.
- The hole diameter (this information is available in the passport for the hole). This value is necessary to sel ect the diameter of the pump, adapter, well cap and well head.
- Discharge of a well (this information is available in the passport for the hole). The value is necessary to select flow rate characteristic of the pump and determination of the necessity to protect against dry running, also to determine the necessity of installing an accumulation tank and a station of the second ascend.
- Distance fr the hole to the inlet in the house (The information is available in the plan of the land plot or is determined by field survey). Not only horizontal, but also vertical component (if any) presents interest. The value is important for determination of head characteristics of the pump.
- Number of stories of the house. The top point of water intake is important (the information is available in the plan of the house or is determined by field survey).
- Place of installation of automatic control (The information is available in the plan of the house or is determined by field survey). This value determines the length of the communication line and is important for choosing and adjusting automatic control devices.
- Shaping of the well head: choice among well head, adapter and well cap. Determines choice of the appropriate equipment.
- Characteristics of the local power network. Determines the necessity of installation of a voltage stabilizer.
