Championship of professional machine-builders. Rivals are welcome!

Since 2007 at the Industrial Group a Championship of Professionals has taken place on the eve of the Day of Machine-builder, in August/September:

• «Golden Project of UPEC» - contest of engineers and designers

• Championship of working professions - contests of lathe operators, milling machine operators, grinders and tool-makers. 

By well established tradition winners of the Championship are announced and celebrated at a solemn ceremony marking the Day of Machine-builder.Championship of working professions is held in two stages. First, championships take place at every Plant of the Industrial Group. Winners become participants of the second stage - a Corporative Championship. Here they compete with their colleagues fr om other enterprises. Winners in each of the four professions are awarded with honorable title «Golden hands». In the team event teams stand up for the honor of their plant, teams fight for challenge Cup of the UPEC and Prize which is given to the whole collective body of the winning enterprise.

Championship of professionals is a test not only for masters but for the jury as well. Criteria of assessment are rather high: faster, more accurate, higher quality. Time, quality of manufacture, workmanship as well as labour safety are assessed. To determine a winner is not an easy task, because each participant is a real expert, “golden hands” of the enterprise.

In 2009 Championship of working professions «Golden hands» turned into an open contest wh workers of nine factories took part. To teams representing UPEC plants (HARP, KhELZ, Kharverst, LKMZ, UPEC-Techservis), new participants, workers of «Turboatom» Plant, «Electrotiazhmash», FED, «SVET SHAKHTYORA» have joined. This year the initiative has been supported by the factory «Avtramat» along with last year participants. So now representatives of ten enterprises of Kharkov region contest for the title of the best professionals on 16-17 September in the shops of HARP and UPEC-Techservis.

Golden project is chosen

Any employee of the IG UPEC enterprises, who is a user of Pro/ENGINEER, Windchill PDMLink, Windchill ProjectLink, Windchill MPMLink may take part in the contest «Golden project of UPEC»

But of course, hi-tech  IT-tool is not principal. The main what the contest committee appraises is creative thought of an engineer, efficiency of solution of a complicated production task, results of implementation.

In 2010 above 20 projects were submitted to the contest, a considerable part of which, as the committee noted, were complex design and technological projects.

Management of the IG UPEC expresses gratitude to workers of UPEC personnel departments and Company enterprises, technical management of UPEC and technical units of plants, the United Engineering Centre and core engineering centres, design bureaus, departments of corporative communications and administrative department of UPEC, management of plants, chiefs of shops and departments and to all, who takes part in preparation and conducting this grand occasion and passionately supports their teams!
